Kriston Capps revisits the bubble for WCP →
Kriston Capps revisited the bubble at Project 4 Gallery and had this to say:
Bolt’s show with Hughes was predicated on a sort of Real World–esque question: What happens when the collector collects the artist herself? The tightly edited presentation with Barlow was both more polite and more real.
In this show that she calls Dealing, Agnes also exhibits the remnants of the distinctly...

Fear and the creative process →
“Creativity is like chasing chickens,” Christoph Niemann once said. But sometimes it can feel like being chased by chickens — giant, angry, menacing chickens. Whether you’re a writer, designer, artist or maker of anything in any medium, you know the creative process can be plagued by fear, often so paralyzing it makes it hard to actually create. Today, we turn to insights on fear and...

Artist Linda Hesh is doing a project at Artisphere this month called Art Every Day in which people tell their thoughts on what Art Every Day means to them. My experience with Agnes taught me a lot about what Art Every Day means. Mostly that art should be a way of life and not something you do on the side.
What does Art Every Day mean to you?

Ran across this art project that resonates with artisfear:
Derived from everyday routine, I seek to instill this experience of abundance in the participants of my projects. It is not necessarily the venue that makes art public. It is not the subject matter that makes work public. It is not the inclusion of certain demographics or specific qualities of otherness among my participants that...
Maura's take on the project →
Maura visited the project earlier in the week when things were incredibly tense and I was still trying to figure out how to navigate the situation. She followed up with questions for both me and Agnes but so much was still unresolved even at the end of the week. Anyway, her thoughtful impressions for tbd.com made me feel sorta bad because I think Agnes is an incredible person/artist and I know she...

Agnes’ suggestion to the Hirshhorn for getting the bubble built much faster!
i would suggest they get in touch with the good folks at www.pittsburghmaterialstech.com/ for the construction of their little project. they taught me how to operate their walk in furnace and provided free snacks during the building process.

randallpacker asked: When the artist as performer becomes the artwork as a living object, how does this transform the viewer, in which it is no longer plausible to maintain a passive relationship to the work.
exiting223 asked: I used to be an intern for an artist who had a hard time keeping me busy. If your interns happen to be at loose ends, perhaps Agnes could put one of them to good use? Perhaps the intern can shine the inside of her bubble, feed her crackers or quiz her about the history of conceptual performance art? Also can you ask Agnes who her favorite Beatle is? And what is she planning to do with that big...
